Little PIPPA is looking for someone to love. She is a sweet gentle older mixed breed girl, probably a puggle or cheagle, so we'll call her a beagle/chihuahua/pug type mix. Pippa is 8-10 years old and 20 pounds but could stand to lose a pound. She came to us from a rural shelter and is grieving the loss of her home. We're guessing she lived her life as someone's constant companion until she landed in the shelter. She seems indifferent to other dogs, she just wants someone to love. Her teeth are a little icky so we've scheduled her for a dental but she's otherwise healthy. She has nice leash manners and would be a wonderful companion for a retiree. If you'd like to meet sweet little Pippa, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Pippa at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
