To apply read about our adoption policies here to fill out an application.Hi friends, my name is Mooshu and I am a 8 year old boy who has been at CARA for some time now. I am looking for a very particular home. One where I am the only animal and that has only one human in the home, and willing to put me up when there are visitors present. I am a scared little guy and when faced with more than one human I get very overwhelmed. Whoever my future mom/dad may be I would need to meet with several times at CARA before we can make my adoption complete. I need this time to be able to feel comfortable with my new human. I know that there is someone out there that fits this description, would follow it to the T and will love me for me. * Special information regarding adopting Puppies * Our adoption fees are: * Altered Dogs older than 1 year old $250 * Altered Dogs between 6 months to a year $275 * Puppies under 6 months who have not been spayed or neutered or who have a medical reason why they cannot be altered before adoption - $235 plus S/N Deposit: $ 100 Our policy is that all adopted animals must be spayed or neutered before leaving the premises. If at any time an animal under the age of 6 months leaves our rescue group unaltered, the adopters must sign and agree to our spay/neuter contract. This contract states each adopter agrees to have the animal being adopted spayed/neutered by a veterinarian of their choice by the age of 6 months. As part of this contract an additional $ 100 deposit fee will be required. This deposit fee will be refunded upon verification of the spay/neuter contract. To see more animals for adoption, please visit the CARA Website Our adoption fees are: Dogs: $250 Cats: $95 Puppies under 4 months: $235 plus Spay/Neuter Deposit: $100 Kittens under 4 months: $70 plus Spay/Neuter Deposit: $100 All pets available for adoption have been spayed or neutered (unless under 4 months please read about our adoptions here ), are current on vaccinations and preventatives, and micro-chipped. Cats have been tested and confirmed negative for Feline AIDS and Leukemia. Dogs have been tested for heartworm disease. Our shelter is located at 42 Deep River Rd in Sanford and is open Tues, Thurs, & Fri from 3pm - 7pm & Sat from 10-2pm (other times available by appointment).
