Description:
Online Adoption Application ›Scooby, is about a year old and is a big, sweet teddy bear with lots of personality and energy. He gets along well with our dogs and loves to play—he can be pretty vocal when he’s having fun, so expect some playful barking. He walks well on a leash with a harness and does best with gentle correction. (Fair warning: he loves to roll around when you try to put his harness on, so we usually leave it on because he turns it into a game.) Scooby loves chewing on bones and toys, though he does get bored quickly and enjoys variety. His favorite place to relax is our big bean bag chair. He’s still working on potty training and doesn’t always ask to go outside yet, but he’s improving. He does have some separation anxiety. His crate training is getting better—he goes into his crate with a treat and will whine a little before settling. Without medication, he can cry and bark for a long time, so he is currently on meds to help him stay calm while crated. He has also managed to escape his crate a couple of times, so he’ll need someone prepared for a little “Houdini” behavior. Because of this, Scooby would do best in a home where someone is around often and he doesn’t need to spend long periods kenneled. Scooby would also do best in a home without cats. He’s curious when they’re still, but loves to chase them when they move. He is full of energy and would thrive in a home with space to run and play. We currently feed him twice a day (morning and night): • 1 cup Purina Dog Chow • 1–1½ cups Taste of the Wild • Water added He’s had some soft stools, so we’re working on what’s best for his tummy and giving him a probiotic with his evening meal. Scooby is a cuddly guy—he loves to snuggle for a few minutes at a time, give kisses, and then he’s ready to play again. He truly thinks it’s playtime all the time. If you’re looking for a high-energy, sweet, goofy young dog who loves affection and would do best with someone home often, Scooby might be your perfect match. The adoption fee is $400, which covers vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet. All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue's best guess and not guaranteed.
