Description:

Online Adoption Application ›Boone was found wandering in Richmond County, NC with severe injuries. He has buck shot in his neck and is unable to put weight on his front left leg. We think he was possibly hit by a car and then targeted by hunters. Due to his injuries his leg was amputated. Boone is a big, smart, very sweet, and handsome boy. He loves to walk. He loves to play. He loves people. At one point, he was testing all the new furniture like Goldilocks. In his first foster home, he napped with the daughters. He’s been nothing but gentle with his post surgery foster mom. He is navigating life with three legs and he has been doing very well. He also has a big healing gash in his neck. Somebody definitely shot him, and still, he’s super sweet. He’s been very well behaved in the house. He’ll find a dog-bed and lay down in it. This is the advantage of a two-year-old. He loves to be pet and will roll over to be pet at hello and goodbye and any other time he thinks you’re willing. Boone is a staff favorite at Walnut Street Animal Hospital, as well as a foster favorite within the rescue! He is great with other dogs and loves kids. We estimate he is ~2 years old and 70lbs. It breaks our hearts that someone could have treated such a beautiful, gentle creature so poorly. Boone is on the upside of healing now and ready to start his search for a forever home! ***************************************************************** The adoption fee is $400, which covers vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet. All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue's best guess and not guaranteed. Please go to https://www.pawfectmatch.org/animals/search? and search on the dog name to see more photos, browse the profile, and complete an application
