Description:

Saturday mornings are perfect for enjoying warm, fluffy flapjacks topped with butter and syrup, right? How about every morning? Afternoon? Evening? Well, if you adopt our Flapjack, you can do just that! This cute little guy was running around stray and got into a scuffle with some other dogs. We're not sure who started it, but Flapjack did not end up as the winner. This poor fella seems to have had a rough past and bears some evidence of living life primarily outdoors. But he hasn't let that break his spirit. Flapjack is friendly and sweet, and just wants someone to love and care for him. That's not asking for too much, is it? If you'd like to be Flapjack's hero and adopt him, he is ready to go home today, so come meet him at BAS!Volunteer notes, 4/25/24:Flapjack is a strong boy with lots of enthusiasm for the outdoors! He probably would have preferred to run free in the play yard but we took him for a leash walk. He is a very affectionate dog who flopped on his back for belly rubs. I get the feeling he doesn't love being around other dogs but he is most definitely people friendly! He warmed up to us immediately and showed his playful, friendly spirit. He is also quite photogenic!Dog Day Out, 4/20/24:We took Flapjack on a walk around the Haw River. After his trail walk, he enjoyed wandering around a park and smelling everything! Flapjack was such a good boy. During the car ride, he enjoyed sticking his head out the window. He is a super curious and friendly dog, He didn't show much interest in any of the treats. Whoever adopts this sweet boy is very lucky!Dog Day Out, 4/13/24:Flapjack was great in the car. He stayed in the back seat and enjoyed sticking his head out of the window. We went through a drive through to get lunch for ourselves and he did not try to get to our food. He really enjoyed the hike! He was pulling at first out of excitement, but he settled down and walked really well for the rest of it. He wagged his tail and seemed interested in meeting new people. He watched other dogs with interest from afar. He enjoyed getting pets at the end of the hike. He was not interested in treats. He was overall a very good boy!Dog Day Out, 4/6/24:Flapjack seemed interested in other people and dogs, but didn't pull excessively to get to them. Saw other dogs from a distance and watched them with a tail wag but didn’t seem interested in approaching them. Met a few people on the trail, and would let people pet him, but he wasn’t super interested in them either, just wanted to continue the walk. He doesn't appear to be food/treat motivated at all — ate one soft stick treat but wouldn’t take any others. Very mild mannered and sweet, but does not know any commands yet. Not very easily distracted — seemed only to be interested in following the trail and marking the trees. He likes being petted! Only jumped once at the end of the walk, and just stood still for petting.
