Male Dog, Pekingese

Pekingese / Pomeranian / Mixed (Long Coat)

Description:

Henry is a 2-3 yr old, 11 lb. Pekingese, perhaps mixed with Pomeranian. He was picked up as a stray by concerned citizens who kept seeing him in the road and then turned over to an area animal shelter, but no one ever came to claim him. We cannot figure out why because he is a darling dog! Henry walks nicely on a leash and appears housetrained. He likes to be where his person is and will follow you from room to room. He will get underfoot and is a tripping hazard, so you have to look before you move. Henry is young and quick, so he is best suited for a similar adopter. Henry gets along with other small dogs and will wrestle and play with one who wants to do the same. If there is another dog in the home, it should weigh 16 lbs or less. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME (NO YOUNG CHILDREN) WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD FOR Henry'S ADOPTIVE HOME. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500
