I was surrendered to the shelter when my owner could no longer care for me. I am a big, sweet dog and I LOVE people. I did very well for my intake process (exam and vaccines). I have not always done well meeting other dogs. I will need slow, planned monitored introductions to any dogs in a new home so that everyone stays safe. Please consider adopting me and spoiling me in your home!Foster notes on John Henry:`John Henry is such a sweetheart! He looks big and scary but he really is friendly and a gentleman. He was perfect on the leash - does not pull and walks right by you. He was very curious about greeting other people and dogs when on a walk and was not scared of bikes. He was very happy to go on a hike but is probably a little out of shape as he was pretty tired after about 3 miles. He did jump a little bit when he was excited like when first getting in the car and when treats were around but would settle down pretty quickly. He didnât seem to know âsitâ but was very food motivated and could probably learn quickly. He is so good on the leash which is especially important for a big dog and very happy to be around people!``John Henry was so fun to get to know!! He had such a wonderful demeanor and walked wonderfully. He was interested in meeting other dogs and people but did not seem aggressive, just curious. He is super treat motivated but very polite about it. He also loves pup cups-and knows exactly what the Starbucks drive through means! He is so polite on the leash- he walked within a few feet of whoever is holding him almost the entire time. No pulling or fear!!`
