Description:

Are you ready to embark on an adventure? We have an absolute treasure who is waiting to be scooped up. Set sail with Miss Mayflower! Mayflower is a sweet gal with boatloads of personality! New people can be a bit scary for her, so it’s best to take things slow and navigate new relationships at her pace. When it comes to building trust with her, a handful of treats always helps! At heart, Mayflower is a gal who wants to love and be loved. She cannot wait to show off her playful side, and once she is comfortable with a new friend, she melts into petting. She has the cutest, most boopable snoot to boot! Here at the Adoption Center, Mayflower enjoys doggy playgroup and is social with other dogs while off leash. While on walks, she has shown some leash reactivity, so she may bark or lunge when she sees other dogs. Mayflower’s ideal home would have nearby walking routes without many dogs to pass by, and her adopter would continue working with her on this behavior by redirecting her attention with treats and rewarding positive interactions. Our staff is happy to offer support and advice to help her transition into your home! Mayflower would probably do best in a home with teens and up. Mayflower needs a home in either a quiet, low-traffic area or outside of the city. She would also benefit from a fenced-in yard. Mayflower needs to meet other dogs one-on-one first. Our staff would love to help make introductions! It is unknown how Mayflower would do with cats. A Matchmaker can offer you tips to set Mayflower up for housetraining success! Mayflower can’t wait to go on a pilgrimage with you! Click “Adopt me” and submit an application to learn more about her here - https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/50f09eb1-c00f-4ae4-b6f5-bbd417c87a93 *The ASPCA Adoption Center encourages a $150 suggested adoption fee when adopting an animal. This suggested adoption fee allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.* For more information on adopting from the ASPCA, please visit www.aspca.org/adoptionsteps. **The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. Please check out our available cats and dogs above, and if one catches your eye, apply directly for him or her. An ASPCA Matchmaker will let you know if the animal you are interested in adopting is eligible for or requires an in-person meet-and-greet. Please note: Adoption applications are handled in the order they are received and submitting an adoption survey does not constitute a hold or guaranteed adoption. You can expect to receive automated emails updating you on your adoption status as our Matchmakers go through applications. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you find your match!**
