Sterling loves stuffed toys and will carry them in her mouth on a walk. Volunteers describe Sterling as “a great big cuddle bug†who’s “full of personality, "She wants to be bffs with every human and animal! Gentle and strong.â€Sterling was found as a stray, so her behavior in a home environment is unknown. She has displayed some handling/touch sensitivity in care and would do best in a home with no young children. Sterling is looking for a patient adopter who can offer her a calm environment to settle into and time to acclimate to new people.Her foster noted "She was just as calm and loving and friendly on Day 1 as the last day with her. She was panting a bit the first day or two, but that stopped after a day or two. Sterling is 100% house-trained. We went for pee breaks and/or walks first thing in the morning, in the early evening before I went out for the night and then before bed. A rawhide stick thing was her favorite and kept her VERY busy. She also likes balls and is good with playing catch.It was really nice to have such a loving dog that was calm and just wanted to receive hugs and lay next to you or even on your lap (despite her size!). She was also so well behaved: understands sit, off /no, can play catch, responds to repetition and training.".
