Female Dog, Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler

Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Location: VA We think Rosie is a blue heeler/german shepherd mix based on her character traits and looks. She was pulled from a shelter in Bedford County VA where she was brought in as a stray, so we don’t know anything about her history. Rosie is slow to warm up to people and other dogs but she’s is a complete love bug once she is won over. She has a high prey drive and can be difficult to recall when she sees a squirrel or deer to chase after. Rosie is a medium energy dog. While she is happy to lay around and play with her toys, I wouldn’t recommend her with smaller children, as sometimes she can be a bit rough. My child is a very dog savvy 5 year old and they do well together. Rosie is crate and potty trained. She walks well on a leash. She is approx 2 years old, 50 lbs, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on preventatives. She has not been cat tested, but I don’t think she would do well with them just judging by her prey drive. She does well with other dogs that we’ve met on walks and I think slow introductions would be needed for resident dogs. My male Weimaraner does not like Rosie and has not adjusted to having her here, but it’s not for lack of her trying to be his friend. Please contact [email protected].
