Location: NC Mavis is ready for a home! Mavis has quite the back story before finding her way to ACDRA. She was likely hit by a car prior to being found as a stray and suffered a broken right elbow. She has received two shock wave treatments that will last 9-12 months! She has supplements that also help with her joint care. Don’t let any of this fool you, as she is still able to go for shorter hikes, walks, play with other dogs, etc. If you have been looking for a cuddle buddy to curl up on the couch with and watch your favorite movie, Mavis is ready to go! She is a low key, low drive kind of gal. She prefers a home without children but other dogs and cats are fine. While she might not have a career as a sport dog, she makes up for it in how sweet she is and how dedicated she is to her person. Mavis’ favorite thing to do to greet new people is to flop on her back for belly rubs and has yet to have met a stranger. Adopters should know that she will require veterinary care in the future for her elbow. It’s unknown how long she can be maintained or how long the joint will stay pain free on her current treatments, but her adoption fee has been waived to find the right adopter.
