Description:
Location: Pembroke, MA Shire's Fellowship of Puppies “It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.” The Fellowship of Puppies are ready to be swept off on new adventures! Born 2/9, they will be ready for adoptive homes around 4/10 at the earliest. They have been your typical mouthy and active pups, and won't be content with the quiet life of a hobbit: they are seeking homes that will help them lead adventurous and fulfilled lives. Pups have been raised in foster with their momma Shire and are off to a great start. Mom has been a friendly girl and has done a great job caring for her little Shirelings. She is approximately 40lbs, and we estimate most pups will fall in a similar range. Embark results are pending on one puppy, which will provide insight into their breed makeup. There are two males (Gandalf and Aragorn) and seven females (Merry, Pippin, Frodo, Samwise, Legolas, Gimli, and Boromir) in the Fellowship. We are raising this litter with Puppy Culture to the best of our ability, and are establishing some foundational skills here including crate exposure and a verbal marker system for training. Of course, as puppies they will need continued training for all the basics. They have all been doing well with exposure to new objects, textures, environments, sounds, and people. Pups are getting positive exposure to adult dogs, and most should be fine with cats if integrated properly. Children 6+ should be okay for most of these little Shirelings, provided the home is dog-savvy with herding dog experience. The Fellowship should be ready for their new homes beginning 4/10. They will be vet checked, microchipped, up to date on deworming, and have age-appropriate vaccinations at time of adoption. They are being adopted out on spay/neuter contracts to allow their puppy bodies and minds more time to develop. Please keep your location in mind when applying: the pups must meet their potential families here in person to help ensure a great match!
