Male Dog, Welsh Terrier

Welsh Terrier / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (Long Coat)

Description:

Wonton was born around July 30th, 2022, and might top out in the 20-pound range when done growing. We were told that Wonton and Waffles are with us because their human just had surgery however in the past we have received calls from humans in this same town to surrender identical-looking dogs so we feel it is likely a backyard breeder situation. Wonton is a touch shy at first but quickly becomes incredibly sweet and happy. UPDATE: Wonton was adopted 5/2023 and returned to us 3/2024 because the adopter was moving to Georgia with family who had children and we were told Wonton was not good with kids. Since Wonton has been back with us he has been slowly introduced to two children aged 5 and 7 and he did wonderfully with them. We are going to say no tiny children in his next home due to what the adopter reported however if you have older respectful children we don't feel that will be a problem but we will insist on a meet and greet with the children and Wonton before finalizing anything. We were also told that Wonton would get car sick on the ride back to JR but after almost 3 hours in the car he was fine. We are not disputing the adopters reports. We can only tell you what we have seen with our own eyes. One more thing... three days after Wonton was adopted he broke his left front leg which needed a plate and screws to be repaired. The surgery required him to be crated for 6-8 weeks. The crating was critical for the repair to be successful but we wonder how 6-8 weeks of being crated right after adoption affected Wonton emotionally. At times we notice a slight limp from that leg and we would imagine as he ages there will be signs of arthritis. Wonton has been a cuddle bug since his return and loves to be in your lap and sleeps beautifully through the night without a crate. Wonton has struggled with ear infections and an itchy face for 2 months. We looked through the vet work and see he was being fed Little Ceasears along with Science Diet and we wonder if Wonton might have a sensitivity to the dyes and chemicals in Little Caesars. We will be keeping a close on this and will update you. So this is the story of Wonton. He is ready for a brand new start and he is going to be the love of your life!
