Female Dog, Pug
Pug / Shiba Inu / Mixed (Medium Coat)
Description:
Our beautiful Princess is ready for her forever home. Princess is a 10 month old breeder release. She is a perfect sized pooch that weighs only 21 pounds. Princess is a unique mix of a Boston terrier, Pug and Shiba Inu. If you follow our page regularly you may remember her siblings Arrow and Alfie. Both who are living their best life in forever homes. We are hoping Princess finds a loving family just like them. Princess is a little more shy and reserved than her brothers. She loves to the butt scratches and chin scratches. She enjoys the comfort of the couch and expects to be able to sleep in bed with you, as every Princess should! Princess will give you gentle kisses when you hold out your hand for her to smell. Every time you leave the room, Princess will follow you. If you are out of her sight, she will whine for you to come back. She likes it when you are on the same level as her. Meaning, Princess is more likely to approach you if you are sitting on the couch or bent down toward the ground or even sitting on the floor. She absolutely loves it when you are lying in bed. She will snuggle up real close to you all night. She has been known to walk on top of you and even play with your feet in bed. Princess does have a couple fears that she is working on. For instance, she is scared of the leash at this time. As soon as Princess sees the leash, she will run from you. A fully fenced yard is required for her. Sorry, no electric fences for her. They just aren’t safe and secure for her. Princess is also scared when you reach for her while standing. She does the “duck and weave” maneuver with her head. She’s working on it and will let you pet her when standing, but it’s clear it makes her nervous. We have seen improvements with that as she becomes more comfortable with her foster family, but she will need additional time to adjust, along with a patient owner. Loud noises do seem to scare her as well. A quieter home with older children (13+) would be best for her. If you have people over, that would be fine. Just don’t expect Princess to socialize too much with them. Princess appears to be housebroken but of course accidents may happen initially, until she learns your routine. She is crate trained but at this point her foster family simply keeps Princess behind the gate in a bedroom or kitchen while they are at work. When they come, there are no accidents even after a full 8 hour work day! Princess loves the other dogs. She loves to play, wrestle, and run through the yard with the other dogs in her foster home. She bonds quickly to another dog and seeks that one out for comfort. Another dog in the home would be great for Princess to learn from and continue to build her confidence. Princess gets along fine with cats and other small animals. Princess is a great pup! She just needs time to warm up to new situations and surroundings. If you think you have the time to work with Princess, make sure you apply today. She is ready to sit with you on the couch and watch tv, or even chase your dog around the yard. The joy she has from that alone always makes her foster smile. We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security. Princess is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and tested neg. for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $475
