Male Dog, West Highland White Terrier Westie
West Highland White Terrier Westie (Long Coat)
Description:
Meet Benson Benson is a charming one‑year‑old West Highland White Terrier weighing just 17 pounds. This happy little guy is full of personality and classic Westie charm. He’s a friendly, outgoing boy who approaches life with enthusiasm and a constantly wagging tail. Benson is a smart dog who loves to stay busy. He truly enjoys playing with other dogs and would be thrilled to have a playful canine companion in his forever home. Toys are one of his favorite things, and you’ll often find him happily entertaining himself or inviting others to play. When he’s not playing with toys or dog friends, Benson loves to run around the yard, exploring and stretching his legs. Mud? No problem! Benson doesn’t mind getting a little messy—especially for a white dog—because fun always comes first. Because Benson is young and was recently neutered, he’s still putting the finishing touches on his house‑training skills. He’s making good progress and responds well to routine and consistency. He can also use potty pads if needed, which gives him a great backup option. Benson walks nicely on a leash and is comfortable going potty while out on walks, so a fenced yard is not required, although he would certainly enjoy having one. Benson has shown himself to be a social and affectionate dog who absolutely loves people. He greets everyone he meets with friendly energy and is eager for attention, affection, and companionship. True to his breed, he does like to bark at the cats in his foster home, so a cat‑free home (or one experienced with terriers) would be best for him. Once playtime is over, Benson is all about the love. He enjoys snuggles, cuddles, and quiet time with his people and has plenty of kisses to give. He’s a sweet, joyful dog who will thrive in a home that appreciates his playful nature, provides structure and guidance, and includes him as part of the family. Benson would do best with: A family ready for a fun, active young dog Another playful dog (not required, but preferred) Ongoing house‑training support and consistency A home that understands and enjoys spirited terrier personalities If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate companion with tons of personality packed into a small body, Benson might be the perfect addition to your family. Benson is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea treated and dewormed, tested neg. for heartworm. He has also been professionally groomed. His adoption fee is $800 - To help set Benson up for success, Pixie Mamas Rescue is providing two free training classes in May through On Your Best Behavior . These classes are offered at no cost to the adopter, and a $50 refund will be issued upon completion of both classes as encouragement for early training and positive behavior development.
