Female Dog, Great Pyrenees
Great Pyrenees (Long Coat)
Description:
*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Snowball is a senior Pyr who embodies the perfect blend of majestic grace and sweet companionship that makes this breed so beloved. She has a wonderfully mellow temperament - she's equally content joining you for leisurely walks as she is lounging peacefully in the same room while you work, read, or watch television. When the mood strikes for outdoor time, Snowball loves nothing more than strolling around the yard before settling into a shady spot to observe her surroundings with the calm dignity befitting her guardian breed heritage. Already housebroken and crate trained, Snowball walks well on leash, and she's impressively well-mannered with a repertoire that includes sit, kennel, coming when called, and understanding meal times and outdoor cues. Being food motivated makes her a joy to train, and she's currently working on mastering stay, wait, and stop commands. Her foster mom describes her as incredibly sweet and affectionate, delighting in head pets, ear scratches, and brushing sessions, often doing a charming little wiggle dance when it's time for meals. Snowball gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes in her foster home and would thrive with a canine companion to play with and keep her company. She doesn’t dig and is content with a 5-foot fence, showing no interest in escape attempts, preferring to chase the occasional squirrel or bunny in the safety of her own yard. Snowball would flourish in a calm, patient home with a female human who can provide consistent love and attention. She's looking for someone special who will cherish her golden years and help her discover just how wonderful life can be when you're truly loved and wanted. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
