Description:
*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Kakashi and Sumisan are a bonded pair currently in boarding, and are seeking a foster or furever home together. These handsome Pyr-Poodle mix boys are brothers, and just love hanging out together! Kakashi sports a striking white coat with light gray on his ears and prefers a doodle-style cut, while Sumisan is white with tan spots on his ears and rocks the traditional Pyr fashion. Both boys are mild in activity level and are described by their foster mom as "the sweetest pair" who would be perfect for someone seeking gentle companions that require nothing more than lots of love. These well-mannered brothers are crate trained, walk well on leash, and know basic commands including paw, sit, wait, and come (mostly). While their housebreaking status is unknown, they keep a perfectly tidy kennel, which is a promising sign. They are confident pups with no apparent dislikes or fears, and they are non-reactive to other dogs. When meeting new people, both boys are friendly and gentle. A 4-foot fence is sufficient for them as they have shown no interest in escape, and they are not chewers or diggers. Their only notable quirk is that Sumisan can be protective of his food, so they should be fed separately. Both boys are easy to groom and actually enjoy being brushed because it means extra attention from their humans. They are excellent car riders and their favorite snack is cheese—the more, the better! The ideal home for Kakashi and Sumisan would include older or teenage children, as these laid-back boys appreciate a calmer household environment. They love having both inside and outside access, as they enjoy being outdoors where they can perform their favorite activity: perimeter walks to make sure all is right in their domain. At night, if they're outside, they may bark while on duty, but when inside, they are quiet companions. They love playtime followed by even longer naptimes, and since they've only known life together as brothers, being the only two dogs in the home would be best. These gentle souls are ready to bring double the love, loyalty, and cheese-loving charm to their forever family! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
