Description:
*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Kakashi is a handsome Pyr-Poodle mix boy, currently in boarding and seeking a foster or furever home! He sports a striking white coat with light gray on his ears and prefers a doodle-style cut. He is mild in activity level and described by his foster mom as "the sweetest" and would be perfect for someone seeking a gentle companion that requires nothing more than lots of love. This well-mannered guy is crate trained, walks well on leash, and knows basic commands including paw, sit, wait, and come. While his housebreaking status is unknown, he keeps a perfectly tidy kennel, which is a promising sign. He is a confident pup with no apparent dislikes or fears, and he’s non-reactive to other dogs. When meeting new people, he’s friendly and gentle. A 4-foot fence is sufficient as he’s shown no interest in escape, and not a chewer or a digger. Kakashi is easy to groom and actually enjoys being brushed because it means extra attention from his humans. He is an excellent car rider and his favorite snack is cheese—the more, the better! The ideal home for Kakashi would be with a laid-back female, or as an only dog, and include older or teenage children, as he appreciate a calmer household environment. He loves having both inside and outside access, as he enjoys being outdoors where he can perform his favorite activity: perimeter walks to make sure all is right in his domain. At night, if he’s outside, he may bark while on duty, but when inside, he is a quiet companion. Kakashi loves playtime followed by even longer naptime. This gentle soul is ready to bring all the love, loyalty, and cheese-loving charm to his forever family! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
