Status: Last posted as 'available' on 10/15/25

Male Dog, Great Pyrenees

Great Pyrenees / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

This goofy boy is Hudson, and he is very curious about this furever family thing that people keep talking about. This big boy has an inquisitive nature, and he is always eager to investigate things that "appear" in his environment. A stick that fell off the tree overnight? - Must investigate! A box that appeared on the porch? - Must sniff thoroughly before being allowed into the house. A bag that showed up out of nowhere? - Must make sure it doesn't contain toys or other goodies for Hudson! Now, don't get me wrong, Hudson is a good boy, and he is dedicating time to learn about new cues in preparation to be the bestest boy for his furever people. When not out sniffing and exploring, Hudson loves to play with his toys! Hudson has a very loose definition of toys; in fact, anything can be a toy for him, so you may not even need to spend $$$ to buy special dog toys! Aside from toys, Hudson adores his people. As long as you are willing to give him love and attention, he will love you unconditionally! Hudson’s ideal home will also have a 4-foot fenced in yard for him to explore. We are pawsitive this boy with a big heart will thrive in a loving home where he will be loved and adored, at least as much as he loves and adores his people!! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
