Description:
*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Annie, a darling Pyr puppy who was found alone in barn rubble in Tennessee after a backyard breeder left her to fend for herself - surviving on cat food, no less - this resilient little girl has blossomed into one of the most remarkably well-adjusted puppies you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Whatever life threw at her early on, Annie decided the best response was to be absolutely wonderful, and she has stuck to that plan ever since. Annie is nothing short of extraordinary when it comes to manners and learning. She is housebroken and she took to crate training like a natural, making it her beloved personal sanctuary. She likes it covered and den-like, stocked with her favorite toys, and she feels safest eating and drinking right there in her cozy little headquarters. Annie is a mild-activity girl with a wonderfully easygoing nature. She has zero interest in chasing cats, and gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes, including the much larger males in her foster home. Now, about those eyelashes. Annie has mastered the art of the slow, long-lashed blink to get exactly what she wants - and since she's so impossibly well-behaved, you'll find yourself saying yes every single time. She's also a champion at hide-and-seek, fairly independent, and happy to come to you when she is ready for affection (which, for the record, she absolutely does want - just on a schedule she helps set). Bacon is the way to her heart. Annie would thrive in almost any loving home that can offer her a secure five-foot fenced yard, a large-breed canine brother to pal around with, and a family that respects her need for her own peaceful den space. She is ready to be “Little Orphan Annie” no longer, and have her very own family! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
