Description:
Soldat came to us in 2022 when he was hit by a car. We fixed him up and gave him a new lease on life, but not as much as he's given us. This blind boy does great on leash and navigates his environment easily once he learns it (quickly!). He has a team of special angels across the US networking him to folks who love blind dogs - they see with their heart, the saying goes. But we bet a special person right here in Santa Fe can give him the happy ending he deserves. Since we first met Soldat, he was adopted twice. Once by a human who loved him to the moon and back, but then became one of his angels when he sadly passed away. Then by a family who gave us feedback about the kind of home that doesn't work well for him. With their amazing sense of smell, did you know that very clever blind dogs can still stalk and chase cats? Looking for an old soul who embraces life with as much enthuasiasm as you do? You must be a pretty special person. Let's meet! Soldatâs adoption fee is $50. He is neutered and microchipped and has age-appropriate vaccinations. A licensing/microchip fee may apply. Santa Fe Animal Shelter is proud to partner with GoodPup! Dogs learn best in familiar, comfortable environments with few distractions, so GoodPup training happens at home.
