He’s the kind of guy who thinks a leash is a sled pull and you’re just along for the ride—but hey, that’s what training classes are for, right?Sprite is dog-friendly and even had a play partner here at the shelter (they’ve since been adopted, but he’s hoping for a new bestie soon). He’s also a total pool monster—if you can’t find him at the water bowl, check the deep end, because this boy loves to dunk himself like he’s auditioning for a synchronized swim team. After his adventures, he shows off his sweet and cuddly side, happily flopping down for snuggles once his energy is spent.His previous owners shared that he’s friendly with adults and other dogs, and he’s even had some training. They just didn’t have the time to keep up with his zest for life, so Sprite is now looking for a family who can match his enthusiasm and energy and give him the structure and attention he deserves.Important Notes for Sprite’s Future Home:Life in the kennel is tough on Sprite, and he can become stressed and destructive when left alone too long—both here and in a home environment. He’ll need an adopter who understands high-energy dogs and can provide plenty of exercise, structure, and mental enrichment to help him thrive.He has also shown some mild food guarding, so he’ll do best with someone comfortable managing mealtimes and creating a safe, consistent routine around food.With his lively personality, Sprite would make a fantastic hiking or running partner and will thrive with daily walks, active playtime, and a fun training class.
