Description:
Meet Sammi — A Sweet Yorkie Discovering the Good LifeWhen Sammi was rescued from a puppy mill that was going out of business, her world changed forever. Like many dogs from these heartbreaking situations, she arrived scared, unsure, and unfamiliar with the comforts of a loving home. But that’s all in the past now—this beautiful 5-year-old silver and tan Yorkie, weighing about 13 pounds, is learning that life can be full of kindness, comfort, and love.Sammi’s “before grooming” photo shows just how far she’s come. When she first arrived, she was matted and nervous, but after some care and a fresh haircut, she’s blossoming into the adorable little lady she was always meant to be. She’s starting to enjoy gentle affection, cozy beds, and the safety of a warm home. Thanks to BCAA and her wonderful foster family, Sammi has received everything she needs to begin her new chapter—spay surgery, microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and treatment (if needed), preventatives, deworming, and professional grooming. Most importantly, she’s finally learning that people can be trusted and that she deserves love.Sammi is still shy and learning to navigate this big, new world, so she’s looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to gain confidence at her own pace. Because she’s not yet comfortable walking on a leash, a secure, fenced yard is required for her potty breaks and outdoor time. A friendly, confident resident dog would also be a great companion to help show her the ropes and remind her that life is safe and good.Sammi may start off timid, but with a little patience and a lot of love, she’ll reward her forever family with loyalty, sweetness, and endless gratitude. If you believe you can offer Sammi the safe and loving home she deserves, please fill out an adoption application at www.bcaaofnj.org.
