Male Dog, Shepherd

Shepherd / Mountain Cur / Mixed

Description:

Meet your new cuddle buddy! Buster is an affectionate, loving three-year-old Shepherd mix. At 53 pounds, you wouldn’t think he’s a lap dog, but don’t tell him that! Extremely intelligent and curious, Buster is eager to learn and is happy to accept any challenge. Of course, he’s extra motivated when delicious treats are involved! Though he is smart and quick to pick up new tricks, he’ll need a family that is patient and willing to teach him. His intelligence is matched with a playful energy that makes him a fun, adventure-loving companion. He is well-behaved in the house and has had a ton of success with potty training. However, he is still learning to be comfortable and calm in the crate. With time and patience, we’re confident that Buster will adapt and thrive with a steady routine. As for playtime, Buster loves fetch and running in the yard, but his curious nature means he is easily intrigued by other critters and dogs, so a high and secure fence or alert leash work is needed. Even so, he is learning quickly and loves his outdoor time. While on walks, he pulls when coming across small animals like squirrels, but is otherwise very well-behaved. With the right training and exercise routine, he is sure to learn how to calmly enjoy his walks with his forever family.Buster would do best in a dog-savvy home that is cat-free and with children 10 and up as he gets a bit jumpy when excited. While he still has some manners to learn, he is incredibly affectionate with people and has so far done well with other dog interactions, though a meet and greet with current pets is a must. Buster is an absolute sweetheart. With training and patience, he will make for an excellent companion and addition to the family. All he needs is a chance to learn and adapt to his new routine.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application!
