Meet Andy! He is about 7 years old and 12 pounds, house broken and crate trained. Andy is as sweet as candy! He came to us from a hoarding situation and while he has made amazing strides, a lifetime of trauma does leave residual personality traits. Andy is more cat-like and will come to you for affection. Andy will come for treats, but will run if you try to scoop him up or try to leash him. Once he is in your arms, Andy will not fight he is just frozen. Because of this reason, we believe Andy should be in a home with older or no children. Once he trusts you, Andy loves head scratches and full body pets. He wants to cuddle on the couch next to you and other dogs. Andy looks to other dogs for what to do and prefers to stay behind his human for safety. In play, he loves to be outside, play chase, play-bows, boops other dogs and recently even started being vocal in play. Andy’s head tilts are epically adorable and his one ear up and one ear down look makes him the sweetest little man. We think Andy would do best with other small to medium sized dogs that he can run and play with in a secure fenced in yard with minimal guests. Big changes can be hard for a dog like this, so patience and dedication will be a must for Andy’s transition.
