Female Dog, Chihuahua
Chihuahua (Short Coat)
Description:
Zulu is a 15-year-old Chihuahua mix who acts like she’s half her age. She was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Texas because she wasn’t eating and was given 5 days to find a front door savior. Northstar was that savior! Turns out she had pneumonia, which explains why she didn’t feel like eating. And her liver numbers aren’t great. She will be on a low fat diet and a liver med for the rest of her life but otherwise, this girl is living the dream! She has some harmless old lady bumps but at her age, she says they are well deserved and she doesn’t care what others think. (Wish we could all say the same!) Zulu is good with other dogs, although she tends to correct the hyper ones with a bark or two. And she passed her cat test (which means she ignored them). Her goal in life is to be a companion to a human - someone who is looking for a lap dog and is ok being followed around. She always wants to be close by but doesn’t get under foot. Zulu is house trained, loves going on short walks and rides well in the car. So if you need someone to run errands with you, Zulu fits the bill! Zulu is currently in foster in Texas but can make her way to NJ whenever you say the word. If you think Zulu could be your buddy, submit an application to adopt her at www.northstarpets.org and mention “Zulu TX”.
