All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step.Taz is a 3-year-old chihuahua mix with long legs, a bouncy step, and a heart that chooses one person to adore. He is intensely loyal and devoted to his human, loves giving kisses, curling up on laps, and spending quiet family time. Taz is crate-trained and sleeps all night without issue. He gets along well with other dogs but clearly prefers human companionship. Taz can be growly around cats because he is unsure of them; with slow, supervised introductions he may learn to accept feline housemates. He is highly food-motivated and thrives with treats and positive reinforcement. Ideal home: a person or family who is home most of the day, wants a devoted lap-loving companion, can be Taz’s chosen “person,” and will manage careful introductions to any resident cats. If you’re ready for a loyal little buddy who gives big affection, Taz is waiting to meet you. All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only.
