Meet Stacks! This gentle Belgian Malinois mix was rescued from a kill shelter with minutes to spare. He was traumatized and extremely shut down, but since arriving at the sanctuary, Stacks has begun to come out of his shell and is learning to be a dog again! He has tested well with a calm female dog so far. He is somewhat more fearful of men than of women initially but soon realizes that he can trust and will bond very quickly. He has the lean build of a Malinois and would make a great hiking or running companion. We have not tested Stacks around cats yet, and young children would likely be a bit too boisterous for him. Stacks is eager to learn and extremely responsive to instruction.
