Female Dog, Pit Bull Terrier

Pit Bull Terrier / Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed

Description:

My name is Jazz and I am a short stack gal with so much love to give. I came into a local impound shortly after having puppies and was initially very scared and shut down. Slowly I started to trust new people and was very happy to show off my favorite trick, "shake," for treats. I warmed up quickly to new people, and would get so excited and wiggly to see them. When I get really excited I can get a bit playfully nippy so I would do best with adults or older children. In my foster home I have done well with other dogs and will play a nice game of chase and then do my own thing when play time is over. At first I had some loud feelings about being crated, but I now will go in nicely with a kong or other chew toy. My foster mom has found that I really love being sung lullabys and they are quick way to put me to sleep (radio works, as well). While I have not had accident when out in the house, I do sometimes urinate in my kennel, so we are working through that. I love toys, especially plush toys, but I will quickly tear them up and leave piles of fluff. I do enjoy a game of fetch, but don't always see the fun in returning the ball. I am working on leash walking. I have the basics down, but although I am good with dogs, I can be leash reactive to other dogs on walks. In terms of training, I do know sit, shake and lay and love showing off my skills. My foster mom has noticed that I sometimes get pretty into watching "shadow TV," ie shadows on walls, so we are working on other options for me to expend my energy. I am over all a moderate energy gal. I am happy to follow my person around and then I will have short bursts of higher energy where I get the zoomies. Jazz is from a local impound.
