Male Dog, Labrador Retriever
Labrador Retriever / Great Dane / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
Meet Charles – the Gentle Giant Charles is a truly special boy – charming, intelligent, and deeply devoted to his people. He’s looking for a consistent, predictable home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood. This handsome guy thrives with calm, confident leadership and will reward his family’s patience and guidance with endless love. Charles would do best in a quieter environment without young children or overly high-energy pets. That said, he’s wonderfully adaptable when given time and proper introductions. He currently adores his two resident cats and is so gentle with them, though it did take slow introductions to build that trust. For cats especially, he’ll do best with confident, dog-savvy companions. When it comes to dogs, Charles especially shines with mellow, middle-aged, or larger companions who share his easygoing style. He currently lives with two big, laid-back pittie mixes and adjusts his play style to match theirs—proof of his remarkable social awareness. He’s playful yet polite, and will happily engage in gentle tug without issue. Simply put – he’s a gentleman! Charles can be cautious with unfamiliar animals, so he should stay leashed during walks and public outings. He sometimes exhibits “fun police” behavior when things get too rowdy, but with calm guidance, he thrives. Once he understands who’s part of his “pack,” he blossoms into the most affectionate, loyal, and laid-back companion. He mirrors the energy of his humans, always eager to please, and has an incredible emotional intelligence that makes him a joy to be around. If you’re searching for a loyal, devoted friend who will reward your patience with endless love and companionship, Charles is ready to become your beloved family member. He has a truly wonderful heart – all he needs is a family who will cherish him. Charles is from a local impound.
