Male Dog, Pit Bull Terrier

Pit Bull Terrier (Medium Coat)

Description:

Pittie Mix l 2YO MO l 42# | Adoption Fee $425From His Foster Mom- Gravity is an amazing boy. He is getting along with dogs and although we still feed him separately, he is not being offered treats around the others in our home. He is so smart and eager to please. He loves to sleep next to a person and corrects so easily when needed. He is potty trained and has had no accidents in the house. He is kenneled while am at work (I do come home at lunch for a potty break) and does fine. He doesn’t like the kennel but is treat motivated and will go in easily if you toss in a biscuit. He will bark for a bit at first but will quiet down fairly quickly. He was a bit too interested in cats the first couple of days - he almost acts like a pointer when he sees one - but he has never harmed or chased - he just stops and barks. He has been learning to coexist with the cats and can now free roam the house as long as he is supervised (for everyones safety) and there have been no incidents. He lives with teenagers, two male Great Danes and a Pomski, 3 cats and a macaw in his foster home. He is still fed separately because he had the “starving dog” mentality but that is by choice and he has shown no issues. If you give him treats he is a gentleman as long as you say “take it nice” and offer with a closed fist first. Young kids should not be giving him food just due to his history. He has learned sit and shake, he does pull on a leash but have no doubt he will learn quickly. He still does not respond to his name (so at one point he clearly had a name he knew) but he will respond to a call. He is truly going to make someone a wonderful companion. Completion of an Adoption Application via our website (www.RescueCrew.org) is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in the adoption process. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
