Description:
Quince (AKA Quin, AKA Quinnie, AKA Stinker) is a 66 pound, 1 year-old boy (DOB: 3/13/2023) who is looking to find his forever family. Quince appears to be housetrained and has not had any accidents in his foster home. Quince is crate trained and happily climbs in after we toss a few treats inside to entice him. He may whine for a few minutes but settles down quickly. He knows the sit command and we're working hard on teaching him down and stay, as well. Quince takes treats very gently. Quince is in a home with a large fenced in yard. He loves to chase after the flirt pole and run circles around his foster mom while she's in the yard. With his energy, his forever family will need to be committed to both exercise and mental games. Snuffle mats, frozen Kongs, lick mats and other food games are his favorite! Quince is still learning to control his impulses to pull on a leash, his forever family will need to continue working on this with him. He has a puppy brain in a big, strong body. With age and training this will get better. Being a teenager, Quince is still jumpy/mouthy when he's excited. We have been working on these things and will need his forever home to continue this work, as well. Quince ideal family would be one with an energetic sister or brother dog OR with someone who likes to walk/run and are willing to work with him on his jumpy/pulling tendencies. It is unknown how he would do with cats. As big as he is, Quince is best with kids 10+ years old.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
