Description:

Meet Selkie: A Sweet Albino Doberman Ready for Her Forever Home Check her out on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/UnitedDobermanRescue/videos/4191106811215335 Selkie's story began in a tough place. She was originally found in a hoarding situation in Iowa, where she was severely emaciated and expecting a litter of puppies. Despite her difficult start, she has shown incredible strength and resilience. After being rescued, Selkie gave birth to nine beautiful babies, and one by one, they all found their forever homes. Now, it's Selkie’s turn to find the loving family she deserves. Selkie is a stunning Albino Doberman, and her unique appearance is just the beginning of what makes her special. She is fully vetted, spayed, and ready to start her next chapter. She’s a smart, affectionate, and easy-going girl who has flourished in her foster home. With her calm and patient demeanor, she’s a joy to be around and is quickly becoming a favorite among everyone who meets her. Here’s What You Need to Know About Selkie: Albino Doberman: As an Albino Doberman, Selkie has unique care requirements. It's important to understand that albino dogs are more sensitive to sunlight, and Selkie will need to be protected from direct sun exposure to avoid skin damage. Be sure to read up on the specific needs of Albino Dobermans, especially regarding their vision and sensitivity to UV rays. She may also have some hearing or vision sensitivities, which is typical of albinos, but this doesn't hinder her ability to learn or engage. A Heart of Gold: Selkie is a very sweet and loving dog. She’s great with other dogs and would thrive in a home with another playful dog to keep her company. Her gentle nature makes her an ideal companion, and she’s known for being very friendly and easy to get along with. Cat-Savvy: While she’s great with dogs, Selkie can be a bit rough with cats. If you have a dog-savvy cat, she could potentially adjust, but we recommend a cat-free home or one with a dog-friendly feline. Smart & Focused: Selkie is incredibly intelligent and loves to learn. She’s very focused and would do wonderfully in scent work or other training activities. She’s quick to pick up new commands and would thrive in an active home where she can continue to learn and grow. Well-Behaved & Calm: Selkie is kennel and house trained, and she walks wonderfully on a lead. She is calm and well-behaved in public, making her a great companion for outdoor adventures or trips to the dog park. She’s not only a loving companion but also a well-mannered lady who knows how to behave in different settings. Active Home: Selkie is looking for an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Whether it’s going for walks, playing in the yard, or engaging in scent work, she’ll thrive in an environment where she’s encouraged to stay active and engaged. A Fenced Yard: Due to her active nature and need for a secure space to play and explore, Selkie will require a home with a fenced yard. This will give her the freedom to run and play safely, while also allowing you to enjoy peace of mind knowing she’s secure. Could You Be the One for Selkie? Selkie is currently located in Iowa and is eagerly awaiting her forever family. If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, and loving companion who will reward you with loyalty and joy, Selkie might just be the perfect fit. If you have a fenced yard, are willing to meet her unique needs as an Albino Doberman and have room in your heart and home for this sweet girl, she would love to meet you!
