Male Dog, Pit Bull Terrier
Pit Bull Terrier / Husky / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
Scooby came to us from the city pound when his legal stray hold was finished and no one had claimed him. He is a pit bull/husky mix who is around a year and a half old. He's what we call a "repeat offender", as his owner allowed him to run loose in town frequently, disregarding the local leash law. Scooby is a nice boy, a little on the shy side. He will be vet checked and neutered on Dec. 3rd and his fee is $150. Scooby seems like a pretty well-mannered guy who needs a bit of basic training. He will run if given the opportunity so a secure, fenced yard is definitely needed. It's not his fault as it's what he was allowed to do. He's young and active, too, so he'll require some good, consistent exercise. He does appear to be okay with other dogs and kids. We don't know about cats. He really has the potential to be a fun and loving companion! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
