Female Dog, Cane Corso Mastiff

Cane Corso Mastiff / Black Labrador Retriever / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Maddie is a 2 year old Cane Corso/lab mix who came to our shelter after she went unclaimed at the city pound. We have been able to piece together her history after receiving information from people who knew her former owner. That's why we know her real name. Maddie was very loved by her former owner but he was unable to really care for her properly. We are hoping to get her vet checked and spayed on May 27th and her fee is $150. Maddie is an extremely shy dog and does take time to warm up to new people. It's not because she's mean - she's just totally confused by the turn her life has taken. She talks a big talk but comes around nicely with sweet talk and treats. She loves stuffed toys! That's how we won her over while she was at the pound. She knows some basic commands and is well mannered. Maddie has done well with other dogs. She has also coexisted with cats. We're thinking she'd do best in an adult only home. Teens should be fine. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
