Male Dog, Dutch Shepherd

Dutch Shepherd / Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed

Description:

#MADloveNico...you might remember him as Noodles, who came into the shelter with an amputated tail. He clearly had a hard start in life. The shelter staff addressed his tail and MAD was able to pull him from the shelter. Since coming to MAD, Nico he has been progressing in obedience and impulse control and is showing the kind of drive and intensity you expect to see in serious working prospects. Making solid progress with door manners and thresholds Sleeps through the night — no barking or howling Very people-oriented and affectionate Impulse control is a work in progress. We are focusing heavily on duration, neutrality, and crate manners. He has a good obedience foundation but struggles with stillness — he is a “go, go, go” dog who prefers action over idle time. High prey drive. Absolutely not suitable for homes with cats or small animals. He becomes immediately aroused and highly stimulated, requiring strong handling and structured redirection. Resource guarding present. Has attempted to bite over food or high-value items. No contact has been made. Manageable with experienced handling and clear structure, but must be addressed through proper training protocols.Overall, this is the type of energy and intensity you see in high-caliber working dogs. He possesses significant drive, athleticism, and environmental engagement. He will require an experienced, confident handler capable of providing clear structure, accountability, and an outlet for his working ability. He is not a casual companion home candidate. He would excel in a performance, sport, or working environment where his energy and instincts can be purposefully channeled. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six-months subscription.
