Description:
Hobbes Is Blossoming — Now He’s Ready for His Next Chapter Located in GeorgiaBack in mid-November, we were contacted by animal control in a last-ditch effort to save two severely undersocialized young pups from euthanasia. They had to be humanely trapped, terrified and unsure of the world around them. When MAD Rescue pulled them, they were estimated to be just 5–6 months old.Since then, Hobbes has been quietly doing the hard work in foster care — and he is blossoming. While he’s still a sensitive boy who needs patience with people, his personality shines when he’s with other dogs. That’s where his confidence lives. Hobbes at a Glance Thoughtful, observant, and sensitive Thrives with other dogs — truly a pack dog Loves running with other Chuck It chasers Confident and often leads when walking in a pack Walks well on leash in a group (3+ dogs) May freeze or shut down on solo leash walks Good, playful, and respectful with dogs of all sizes Playful with cats and learning boundaries Takes a clear “no” correction well Will take treats (especially when humans are seated or squatting) Crate is his safe space Beginning to show interest in affection Playful, Mal-style nippy mouthiness Wary of sudden human movement but building trust every day What Hobbes Needs A patient, calm, dog-savvy home Two or more confident dogs — he truly thrives in a multi-dog household A secure, fenced yard Slow, pressure-free human interaction Consistency, structure, and kindness Understanding that shutdowns come from fear — not defianceHobbes is not a “plug and play” dog — he is a relationship dog. Once he feels safe, you can see the curiosity, the playfulness, and the spark that was always there waiting. He has already come so far from the terrified pup who didn’t know how to exist safely in the world. Now he just needs a home willing to meet him where he is — and let him continue to grow. If you have a playful pack of Chuck It fanatics and a heart for helping a sensitive soul build confidence, Hobbes might be your boy. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six month subscription. ***********************************************************************If you are interested in adopting this pet, please complete an application at this link: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic. ***********************************************************************MAD is an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location.
