This gorgeous 1-year-old Australian Shepherd is bursting with energy, love, and personality.Russel is as sweet as they come. He loves everyone he meets and is happiest when he's surrounded by his people. Whether it's joining you for a hike, playing in the yard, or just curling up nearby after a busy day, Russel thrives on human attention and companionship.As a typical Aussie, he’s incredibly smart, active, and eager to learn. He’ll need a family who can match his energy level and provide him with plenty of mental and physical stimulation. A securely fenced yard is a must, and homes with previous herding breed experience are preferred to ensure Russel gets the structure and activity he needs.Russel loves other dogs! He’s happiest when he’s got a buddy to wrestle and run with. He’d do great in a home with another playful pup, though he'd also be happy with plenty of playdates and dog park time.We’re not sure how Russel does with cats, but due to his strong herding instincts, we recommend a home without feline friends.Russel’s long, luxurious coat is absolutely stunning—and it needs regular care to stay that way! He’ll require consistent brushing and professional grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $175
