Description:
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. HELLO VINCENT! Available pending neuter Vincent, affectionately known as Vinny is one of the handsomest puggles we've met. Weighing in at 28 pounds, his squishy good looks are in line with his affectionate and loving nature. Vinny loves people and he is interested in being around them all the time. Yep, Velcro pug, achievement unlocked. He is a playful pup and enjoys toys of all types. He has gotten along well with the Pug and Doxie in his foster home and often initiates play. His current housemates are not always interested in playing, and Vinny respectfully albeit it sadly complies. We are hoping someone with a small dog with similar energy is looking for a playmate. Vinny would be thrilled to apply for the position! Not too barky, Vinny will let you know when he needs something or when someone is around the property. He is part Beagle which by nature makes him more vocal. A low foot traffic home would be ideal. He mostly needs someone within his line of sight. Vinny has some separation anxiety and prefers to have someone nearby. He will do best in a home where people are around, otherwise he does bark. He was rescued from a questionable home by his surrendering owners who loved him very much but their family circumstances were not ideal for Vinny. We want to find this sweet boy a soft landing where he can settle in for life. We can envision a long happy and loved life full of joy for this special guy so let's make it happen. Vinny has been a perfect 10 when it comes to house training. Not one accident since coming into foster care. Working on crate and basic training, he knows sit and is working on off/leave it. He needs continued work on a leash but does not show any interest towards other dogs during walks. Vinny is a happy friendly loving boy and will just need someone to take him the rest of the way towards becoming his best self. He is a champion snuggler, so fear not, he's got you covered during long winter nights. He even loves to burrow under the covers. Who needs a foot warmer when you've got Vinny?! He's a good boy in the car but needs to be touching someone. Keeping him safely secured will be a must and hopefully as he decompresses and takes more fun rides, he will relax into a road trip. Vinny has been gentle with the children he has spent time with and also is a good boy for grooming, preferring the Dremel for nails over clippers. Daily walks and a nice fenced in yard to expend some playful energy will make him happy. That and a nice hard chew toy. Vinny loves giving hugs and hates being alone. Vinny will be undergoing his neuter surgery soon and will be ready for his next chapter after that. He is otherwise healthy. If you think you've got what Vincent needs to live a full and happy life, please complete an application!
