Male Dog, Labrador Retriever

Labrador Retriever / Mixed

Description:

Bernie Sanders is the sweetest big baby. He loves all dogs and welcomes everyone with a wiggly tail. He loves smelling flowers and grass and of course, dog pee. He is just a happy-go-lucky boy who, despite some rough beginnings, is ready to love his future family forever. Bernie walks well on leash. He is currently being fostered with 8 other dogs of all sizes (from chihuahuas to a couple of 80 lbs pups). Bernie can sleep in his crate but he prefers to sleep on a large dog bed or on the couch. Just like every young dog, he would benefit from puppy schooling to develop confidence with new situations. He knows how to entertain himself with toys and with other dog friends. Rescue story: Bernie was found abandoned in a park by a lady who feeds dogs when he was 6 months old. Bernie's previous family left him there with his collar, bowls, and a big bag of food. Sadly, when the dog-feeder lady went to check on him later, his food was stolen by a neighbor (who does that to an orphan dog!?). Fortunately, Bernie's finder took him into her house and became his foster mom in Houston. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.PLEASE READ: • If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption.
