Adoption Update: This dog is currently on a temporary 2-week hold due to a sick puppy in the kennel area. Please check back in 2 weeks.Meet Theresa, a beautiful 3-year-old Akita with a quiet elegance and a gentle heart. She came to us as a stray, and while her past is a bit of a mystery, her personality is slowly shining through. Theresa is friendly and affectionate with people she knows and trusts. New situations can be a little overwhelming for herâshe can be nervous around loud noises and is still learning to feel comfortable walking on a leash. With patience, consistency, and reassurance, she continues to make progress every day. Because of her sensitive nature, Theresa would do best in a calm home with someone who has Akita experience and understands the value of going at her pace. Given time to settle in and feel secure, she has the potential to be a deeply loyal and loving companion.If youâre looking for a graceful soul who just needs patience and understanding to truly blossom, Theresa may be the perfect match. Theresa has currently came back from a foster home and has been with a dog and horses and has done well. She is housebroken and loves children. If you are interested in meeting Theresa, please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12:30p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12:30p & 2p-6:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Adoption application can be filled out and approved during your meet-and-greet. If you have another dog in the home, plan to bring them for a meet before you complete the adoption!
