Male Dog, Siberian Husky

Siberian Husky (Long Coat)

Description:

www.huskyrescueteam.org If you have additional questions please email [email protected]… Buddy 2! Buddy is a 2.5 y/o male Husky. He has been with a foster family for about six months and is ready to find his forever home! Over the past several months he has been neutered, caught up on shots, and completed a basic obedience training course through the H-E-A-R-T HELP program. Buddy loves going on daily walks and playing with his humans. He especially likes hide & seek toys, playing tug-a-war, and fetch (though this sometimes turns into a game of keep away). Buddy can sometimes get a bit rambunctious when he plays or meets new people. Both of these tendencies have improved significantly over time, but he would do best with adults and older children. Buddy loves people and is very interested in other dogs. Unfortunately, he hasn’t had much opportunity for socialization, so introductions with other dogs will need to go slow. Like most huskies, Buddy has a strong prey drive and would not be a good fit for a house with small animals. Buddy is 99% housetrained. He does very well on a routine schedule of going out, and does his best work on walks. He has a slight aversion to his crate and would benefit from some positive reinforcement and refresher training to feel more comfortable. While he will happily tear up his own toys, or a receipt or plastic bag found on the floor, he has not shown other destructive tendencies. Buddy is sweet, playful, and ready to give an abundance of love to a calm and consistent companion. Someone able to continue teaching him about the world and giving him regular walks and play would be a match made in heaven! To adopt Buddy, apply at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply and your application will be forwarded to Buddy's family for review.~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply If you have additional questions please email [email protected]
