Name: Ezra Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 5 years old Best Guess for Breed: Mixed Breed Terrier Dog Weight: About 45 lbs Good With: Dogs and people. We haven’t seen Ezra interact yet with cats or kids, but happy to test him out. Story: Ezra was rescued from a shelter locally in Washington, DC. Ezra is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Ezra is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Even though Ezra is no longer a puppy, Ezra will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! EZRA’S PERFECT MATCH: Perfect Family: Ezra just wants to cuddle! He'd be fine with adults or kids. He gets very excited to say hello to people, so kids who are used to dogs would be preferable. He could live with another dog or by himself. We haven't seen him with cats but we can get him tested! Perfect Home: Ezra would love to lay on a bed next to you during work and cuddle on the couch at night. Noises don't bother him, and other than a little whining when he first goes in the crate, he's pretty quiet so would be fine in the city or the suburbs. He enjoys backyard sunbathing but doesn't need a yard as long as he gets to go on walks. He does well with a dog walker midday when we're in the office. Ezra is the sweetest boy looking for a home! He loves people and other dogs! Exercise Needs: He's a pretty lazy boy but enjoys playtime with toys and a few short walks a day. He has really good leash manners and only really pulls when he wants to go say hi to someone. Behavior in the Home: Ezra wants to be around you! He wants to know where his humans are at all times, but easily settles on a dog bed or the couch. He likes bones and toys and is pretty playful. He is interested in food on counters but is working on that. He does not know any commands but is extremely well behaved regardless. He gets restless when he needs to go out and is very good about going to the bathroom on walks. Crate: Ezra would prefer not to, but willingly goes into his crate when we're at work or sleeping. He only whines for a minute to let you know he'd rather not be in there, and then he's fine and settles. If you think that Ezra might be your perfect match, apply today!
