Female Dog, Chihuahua

Chihuahua / Dachshund / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Name: Coconut Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 8 weeks old (as of 4/15/25) Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua/Doxie Mix Weight: About 5 lbs (as of 4/15/25) Lives With: Dogs, cats and people! Housebroken? Not yet- she’s just a puppy and started working on her potty training! Story: Coconut was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina with her brother and sister. We are so happy to have them safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Coconut is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Coconut is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Coconut will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Sawyer, Coconut and Kiwi are all very loving and adorable and give lots of kisses. They are doing alright with trying to go potty outside - most of them will go when we first get outside, but obviously they're still using the puppy pads a lot too! We've had four different visitors (in addition to the three different people who live in this house) and they've done very well with all of them. Kiwi and Coconut are very good at playing with each other and wrestle a lot - Sawyer is still getting the hang of being with other puppies and is sometimes confused when the others yap at him because he is chewing on their legs/tails. They all tend to sleep in a puppy puddle together. Coconut has great puppy energy and is very curious about exploring everything around her. The fee to adopt Coconut is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Coconut has been seen by a shelter vet and was given a clean bill of health. If you think that Coconut might be your perfect match, apply today!
