Rescued from: Alabama About April: April is a very happy sweet girl who loves everyone! She is discovering investigating all the toys in the toy box, loves belly rubs, treats, and giving kisses. She also loves to go on walks and sometimes does a little happy skip to keep going. She is good on leash and we went on a trail walk on the C&O over labor day weekend and she did amazing and loved it, even dipped her feet into the stream. With a little more training she could be a good jogging/hiking companion but she is also content to walk. April is a medium energy dog who will play for an hour/an hour and a half and then nap pretty hard. She is pretty chill generally about most things - was completely unbothered by the thunderstorm, doesn't seem phased by loud noises or dogs barking in the building, and is very good at bathtime. She knows sit, touch, and down. She is great with other dogs, albeit shy when first meeting - she wants a slow intro. She is also good with kids although she jumps up a lot on folks when excited to say hello or make new friends so we are working on keeping four paws on the ground - this is something easy to train with consistent practice. April loves to be next to you and will give you a paw to let you know she wants you to keep petting her, she can't wait to be a part of your family! The fee to adopt April is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines.
