Description:

Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization or individual. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him/her. Meet Lily – A Spirited Senior in Need of a Safe and Loving HomeLily is a 13 lb. Toy American Eskimo who’s full of personality and spunk! She was originally adopted in May 2012, just before her first birthday, and lived a happy life until recently, when her beloved mom sadly passed away from brain cancer. Now, Lily finds herself needing a new home once again.Unfortunately, my current home isn’t safe for her due to the size and temperament of my larger dogs. Despite her tiny frame, Lily is fearless and won’t back down from a challenge—even from much bigger dogs—so she needs to be the only dog or with very gentle companions.About Lily:Age: ~13 years oldBreed: Toy American EskimoWeight: 13 lbsPersonality: Spunky, fearless, loving, and people-friendlySpecial Needs: Lily has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI). It's easily managed with a powdered enzyme added to her food—just mix it with a bit of water and wait 30 minutes before feeding.Due to her condition, Lily’s body thinks it’s starving, so she will eat anything she finds—especially off the ground. For her safety, she can’t be in a home with litter boxes or environments where she might get into harmful things. She’s also food and water protective—she’ll defend her bowl, even though she has no teeth! While she can’t hurt other animals, she could be injured if they retaliate.Lily would thrive in a calm home where:She’s the only pet (or with a very mellow companion)Her food routine is carefully followedThere are no litter boxes or unsafe chewables around. She gets lots of love and attention—she adores people! If you can open your heart and home to Lily, you’ll be giving a sweet senior the comfort and safety she truly deserves in her golden years.
