Description:

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting. ***** Zelda is 6yo, weighs 50lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped. Zelda's guardian adds: "Zelda has plenty of love and energy to share. She's still willing to be a couch potato and cuddle during movies though. She thrives in a suburban or rural area. Zeldo is truly the silliest, sweetest, most cuddly girl. I'm going to miss her like crazy! I allow her to roam the townhouse because she's not destructive. I often find her on the couch or waiting by the door when I return. Where she sleeps at night varies, but typically on her bed in the hallway outside my bedroom or on the sofa. Sometimes I'll let her sleep in bed with me. She knows 'sit' and 'lay down'. Zelda quickly learns where she's not allowed to be in the home. Regarding car rides, she does so well! She enjoys drives! She loves looking out the window. I crack the window so I can sniff a bit. She knows she's not allowed to be in the front seat, and I taught her to wait on the back seat until I open the back door for her to exit the car. Zelda dislikes/fears loud sudden noises such as fireworks or gunshots. She's not a huge fan of the church clock, either, but she's not scared." Zelda's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her: "I am moving to a country with a strict import ban on her breed." Zelda's guardian offers a brief a medical history: "Zelda was surrendered to the shelter severely underweight and lactating (without her puppies). She was treated for eye and oral infections. Zelda takes fluoxetine (prozac) daily for anxiety." Zelda's guardian states the following regarding children: Although Zelda hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating... "Families with children between ages 3-13 years old have dog-sit Zelda for a few nights. She was very loving, playful, and gentle. She calmly lets children in our neighborhood pet her and feed her treats. Since Zelda is very active and loves attention, I recommend a family with children!" Zelda's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Zelda hasn't lived with dogs, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating.... "Zelda has leash reactivity (getting better!) when she sees other dogs on walks. The shelter recommended I do not take her to dog parks, especially when smaller dogs are present. She is selective with her dog buddies. I have taken her on playdates in a fenced yard with other dogs her size, and she behaves well when she's not on a leash. She honestly didn't seem interested in playing with the dogs. I believe she simply enjoys playing with humans. The shelter mentioned even with her reactivity, Zelda has had plenty of opportunities to bite or scratch another dog, yet she has never!" Zelda's guardian states the following regarding cats: Zelda hasn't lived with cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "I've only seen her interact with cats while on walks. She again has strong leash reactivity". Zelda's guardian describes her as: Very active Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Protective Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Zelda's guardian describes her ideal future home: "Zelda would benefit from a fenced yard and a household with an active lifestyle. She has plenty of energy and love to share. She's still willing to be a couch potato and cuddle during movies though. She thrives in a suburban or rural area. I live in the city, so sometimes we drive to parks in suburban areas and I quickly notice she's more relaxed. Excessive noise and traffic can be distracting and sometimes overwhelming for her. She truly is the sweetest, silliest, most cuddly girl. I'm going to miss her like crazy." Rehoming Fee: None Location: Baltimore, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS 1.
