Female Dog, Labrador Retriever
Labrador Retriever
Description:
Name: Nessa Approximate breed: mix Gender: Female Approximate age: 1 year Approximate weight: 54 lbs Vetting/Vaccinations: Up to date Spayed/Neutered: Yes Good with Children: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Unknown Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Ideal Family: Any, would love fenced yard Adoption Fee: $550 Nessa was a young stray down south that needed a FHO (femoral head removal) which gave her little hope of anything other than euthanasia where she was. She was so friendly and sweet that our amazing rescue friends worked their magic to get her a chance at surgery and a happy life, and NELR is so happy to be a part of that journey! She’s had her surgery, which is a fairly common one used to fix pain and related disuse of the leg, and spent some time recovering and working on building back strength after not being able to put weight on it. Nessa has been doing great and we are so proud of her and excited for her future now that she's pain-free! Her foster says you’d never guess what she went through when you see her playing and goofing with her dog friends. She loves humans and is cuddly, playful, smart, and affectionate! She gets along well with other dogs and kids, is used to leash-walking, and is potty & crate trained. Nessa loves to sniff around the yard, play with her friends, and hang out in sunny spots, so a fenced yard would be so nice for her! She’s been enjoying home life and has been a lovely houseguest. She’s a happy pup that “smiles” and "hugs" (leans into) you. She just loves people, and can’t wait to get life started and enjoy every moment going forward! Does Nessa sound like the sweetie for you? Fill out an adoption application today! All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending. We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes. We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs. Ready to Adopt? The next step is to fill out our Adoption Application. A volunteer will contact you to review your application and see if your family might be the right match.
