Thank you for your cooperation.NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 1/27/2026: Shak - male - approx 4 years old - 13.14 pounds - Shih Tzu mix Reason for intake: Shak was photographed by several people running around Linton Road area in Benton, La. We first saw him on the Cypress Shak Facebook page (thus his name). We were reached out to by several people but he needed to hold up somewhere before we could set a trap. Today, Dana, a local, messaged us that he’d been holding up at a church and she left a box for him and some food so he’d stay put. We headed out with our trap and some canned chicken breast. He was in the little box left for him by Dana. His little nose sniffed the air as we were setting the trap. He definitely smelled that chicken. Once the trap was set, we drove a little ways away... and within a few minutes, he was trapped. Since being with us, he's the sweetest boy who wants only to be with us! He's been quarantined and he'll bark for his walks. So sweet! Stray hold is now up and he's heading to our vet the week of February 2, 2026, for everything he needs! NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.
