Thank you for your cooperation.NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ADOPTION RETURN - NEW INTAKE 12/16/2025: Rocco Man - male - 7 years old - 7.2 pounds - Chihuahua Original intake date: March 27, 2023 Adopted: 5/25/2023 Returned due to owner illness: 12/16/2025 In 2023, Rocco Man was wandering around a neighborhood in Blanchard for several days (it’s a wonder he didn’t get snagged by something). Neighbors did not recognize him as living nearby. One of the neighbors reached out to us for help and we took him in. Animal control was notified and we networked him trying to find an owner. He was not microchipped and was in horrible shape. Clearly he was not cared for. He was heartworm positive (now negative), missing most of his hair (we put him on Bravecto as vet suspected demodex despite not finding any mites) - he has a full coat of hair now; plus other things. We got him in tip-top shape and he was then adopted by one of our former board members. Sadly, she had back surgery and other ailments and just couldn't care for him any longer. We are sending him to the vet for a dental but other than that, he's good to go. We'll be posting him for adoption soon. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.
